Located on the bohemian Stockholm island of Södermalm, this 65 m2 apartment was in need of total renovation to create a bright, welcoming space that would allow the owners to feel cosy and uplifted.
Here I created a bright white kitchen to create a feeling of light, even during long, dark winter days. I added texture through hand-made tiles, brass taps, handles and knobs, and the beautiful bianco carrara marble benchtop. Storage was a priority, so I added additional benchspace and cupboards on the right-hand side of the kitchen, and built-in the fridge and freezer to add a seamless, clean line to the space.
Throughout the apartment, I added white painted floorboards to replace brown tiles, finishing them in highgloss paint in heavily trafficked areas like the entrance hall and kitchen, and in white soap in the living and sleeping spaces for a softer finish.
